Pin Grading System

♥ PIN GRADING SYSTEM/POLICY ♥

Due to pins being handmade, flaws are inevitable and I can't guarantee you will get a perfect pin. Sides and backs of pins are not included in the grading process (unless posts are broken). Please see how I personally grade my pins below!

Pins are cleaned with a solution and buffed with a microfibre cloth before I start grading. In natural lighting, I examine each pin up close to detect any imperfections. Most makers grade at arms length but I prefer to see any flaws up close and I determine my grade from there.

A GRADES: Pins that are the best of the batch with imperfections only noticeable when looked at up close. less than 5 minor flaws. Again, pins are never perfect. A grades could still have some flaws!

B GRADES: Pins that are still in great condition, but may have either more minor flaws, or more noticible flaws when looked at up close.

C GRADES: Pins that have many minor flaws or much more noticeable flaws but are still great pieces for a budget collector! I do not sell pins with missing screenprint in vital places (such as eyes) or enamel(unless in tiny spots). Facial flaws and full miscolored parts of enamel(not a singular dot) are automatically considered a C grade

P4P PIN GRADING: Pins that are P4P (Pay for Production) are still graded but I dont inspect them as thoroughly. They will always sell as one mixed A/B grade as I won't be ordering extras due to the strict LE size and not making profit off these types of pins.

"STANDARD GRADE": this is similar to a mixed A/B grade pin. I use this when it comes to mini pins or pins that have a batch flaw. You may have a mix of A/B flaws, but you won't receive a damaged pin!

CHROME PINS: Due to chrome pins having a higher flaw rate than standard metals, My grading system is more leniant for them. They will still be considered A, B or C Grades, but they aren't graded as harshly. An A grade chrome pin may be considered a B, and so on. Please keep this in mind when purchasing any chrome variants!

TYPES OF FLAWS:
· overbuffing marks on the entire pin(this is common due to the polishing process)
· light scratches, bubbles, pin pricks, indents or dust in enamel and/or screenprint
· dots of enamel color or stray glitter
· minor underfill/overfill in enamel
· slightly misaligned or missing screenprint (in non vital places)

Remember that every pin maker grades differently. If you ever have an issue with a pin you received from me not being the grade you believe you bought, please email me and I will work with you to figure out a solution!
